The beginnings were when the Abdullah Moftah Foundation was established in the year 2000 AD and it is licensed by the Central Bank of Yemen as a result of the high demand for currency exchange and money transfer in the Republic of Yemen. In the year 2018 AD, the Abdullah Muftah Foundation and the Abu Abdullah Muftah Foundation were merged into one company, as it became under the name of the Muftah Exchange Company with license number (6356/21).
The company has developed rapidly as a result of providing added and tangible value to its customers, as the company has a network of branches consisting of 20 branches throughout the Republic of Yemen, and it offers an integrated package of financial services that include buying and selling currencies, local and international money transfer services, electronic wallet services and bill payment. With continuous service 7/24 throughout the week, and an extensive network of agents and services all over the world, the company is keen to comply with local and international laws governing exchange and money transfers. It is considered one of the leading companies in the banking field and money transfer to and from all over the world. As a result, the company was honored with the ISO 9001: 2015 quality certificate in March 2023.
